Dorothy Hoffner made headlines a week ago for breaking the skydiving age world record at a ripe-old age of 104.
One week later, on Monday, Dorothy passed away.
A spokesperson for Hoffner told the Chicago Sun-Times they were honored that the skydiving experience from Oct. 1 was able to serve as an incredible cap to her "exciting, well-lived life."
I mean, yeah, talk about going out on top!
Dorothy was quite literally on top of the world just days before her death, and she reportedly passed peacefully in her sleep.
At the time, Dorothy told an audience at her landing site that age was just a number. Guinness World Records hadn't even processed her record claim yet, although it appears she beat the previous record holder by a year.
Sadly, Mrs. Hoffner had future plans of riding in a hot air balloon.
According to her family, she lived 104 wonderful years, and she lived life to the fullest to the very end. Her secret to a long and happy life?
"I'm ashamed to admit, it's probably because I am lazy," she said. "I don't do anything strenuous or too energetic. It's also down to God. My heavenly father has taken good care of me."
Praise the Lord.
What a way to go!
