When the National Guard was kicked out of Capitol Hill last night and forced to sleep outside and in garages, quite a few congresspeople decried the move on Twitter, a few offered their own offices as bunk rooms, and even fewer actually made calls to get the decision reversed.
But one congressman went the extra mile and got the troops some pizza.
The soldiers – who had just spent two weeks erecting 12-foot fences and establishing an air-tight perimeter to protect the mOsT pOpuLaR incoming president in U.S. history – shared how D.C. politicians kicked them quite literally to the curb on Thursday night:
First-term Rep. Madison Cawthorn (R-NC) – the youngest member of Congress – decided to actually do something about it through one of God's greatest gifts to mankind.
Cawthorn ordered a massive stack of Papa John's pizzas and then delivered them to the homeless Guard members.
