The Plot Thickens: Accused University of Idaho Killer Allegedly Had Pics of Victim on His Phone

If you thought the case of the horror-movie-esque murders of four University of Idaho students in November couldn't get any crazier, well, it just did.

According to a source familiar with the investigation, Bryan Kohberger, the man charged with the murders, had pictures of one of the female victims on his phone. That's right, he allegedly had photos – multiple photos – of one of the women he's accused of knifing to death in her own bed in the middle of the night.

Authorities found the pictures on a phone that belonged to Kohberger after he was arrested. The source didn't say whether the photos were ones he had taken of her or if they were downloaded from her social media, but either way, it's extremely creepy and represents a significant advancement in the case.

"He had more than one picture of her," the source said. "It was clear that he was paying attention to her."

Kohberger, a 28-year-old graduate student and teaching assistant at Washington State University, was arrested more than a month after Madison Mogen, Kaylee Goncalves, Xana Kernodle, and Ethan Chapin were all stabbed to death in an off-campus rental home in Moscow, Idaho, in the middle of the night.

Kohberger has been charged with four counts of murder and one count of felony burglary, and authorities say he was linked to the crime scene through DNA and cell phone pings.

But even with all that evidence against him, authorities are still keeping a tight lid on the motive behind the attack. A judge has imposed a gag order to keep many of the details from becoming public.

Kohberger hasn't entered a plea yet, and his next hearing isn't until June 26. His attorney hasn't released any comments, but honestly, what is there to say? It's hard to imagine any plausible explanation for the evidence against him.

Right from the go this case has been absolutely bananas.
