The U.S. government raided the home of Eric Adams's top fundraiser looking for evidence of illegal donations from a certain foreign government

Powerful northern Democrats generally seem shielded from any and all legal oversight, but I guess New York Mayor Eric Adams has been acting too much like a Republican on immigration, because the regime just came at him:

Federal prosecutors and the F.B.I. are conducting a broad public corruption investigation into whether Mayor Eric Adams's 2021 election campaign conspired with the Turkish government to receive illegal foreign donations, according to a search warrant obtained by The New York Times.

Illegal donations from the, um, Turkish government?

Is that normal? Is that something Democrats regularly do โ€” get illegal Turkish cheddar? I'm not familiar with that line of corruption.

Well, Adams is certainly innocent until proven guilty. But it sure seems like they have SOME goods on him: Federal agents this week "conducted an early-morning raid at the Brooklyn home of the mayor's chief fund-raiser, Brianna Suggs," who is "deeply entwined with efforts to advance the mayor's agenda."

The feds don't usually go knocking down doors without good justification. There's also a "construction company" and a "small university" in the mix as well.

There was "no indication that the investigation was targeting the mayor, and he is not accused of wrongdoing," the Times noted.

(Yeah, I'll believe that when the dust settles.)

Adams, meanwhile, defended his campaign from allegations of corruption, stating that he held it "to the highest ethical standards."

Notably, the mayor has boasted of his ties to Turkey, saying as recently as last week that he is "on [his] sixth or seventh visit" to the country.

I'm sure investigators will get around to asking him what he's done so many times there!
