Well, it looks like McNuggets really are a dime a dozen.
Yes, this Ohio family was holding family game night โ glad people are still doing that โ and they found in their meal of McDonald's some good old fashioned pennies inside their chicken nuggets. A priceless discovery.
A family's game night turned scary when they found pennies inside of a couple of local McDonald's chicken McNuggets.
"Wintersville police were dispatched to the Wintersville McDonald's at approximately 8 p.m. and took a statement from a customer about finding change/pennies inside their chicken nugget. They found three pennies inside their food," said Capt. Jason Fabin of the Wintersville PD. "Management was made aware of it. We made a case on it. We are continuing to look into it. Management is also looking into it as well."
Beth Rupert-Warren says it was her family that found the money.
"Looked at it, looked like it was fine, but then when they broke it open, they could see this brown object inside of it that looked like a penny," she said.
Whoa, they went and got the police involved!
Didn't expect that over three cents!
Very serious stuff, these pennies inside the McNuggets.
Let's take a look at the McNugget, shall we?
Yup, definitely some Lincolns in there!
And I must ask, like, how does this happen?
Are they making the chicken in the same room where they make those 50-cent rolls of pennies? Do we have a coin collector in the factory? Those could be wheat pennies!
Probably just a simple manufacturing error, but still, a strange story.
I'll give Beth Rupert-Warren the last word here, because she has a good reason to have been so urgent in her efforts to take down these penny-infested nuggets.
"My biggest fear was that someone was going to hand their child a chicken nugget in the back seat of their car in a chair seat and they could choke on something like this," she said.
Yeah, I'm with ya, Beth. That could've been really bad. Sorry to say, but I'm glad it was your family that found the pennies and not the back of some toddler's throat.
Hopefully your next family game night goes better than this one.
I'll leave you with this:
