Dennis Schröder has had his share of run-ins with the trade deadline. The 31-year-old had previously played for eight NBA teams and seen himself traded on the day of the deadline twice.
Just a few days ago, Schröder said this about the NBA's trade deadline.
It's like modern slavery. It's modern slavery at the end of the day. Everybody can decide where you're going, even if you have a contract. Yeah, of course, we make a lot of money and we can feed our families, but at the end of the day if they say, ‘You're not coming to work tomorrow, you're going over there,' they can decide that. They got to change that a little bit.
And as if to say, this is a business, not slavery, this man was traded three times, landing on four separate teams, in just 24 hours this week as the trade deadline hit on Thursday. His base salary this year will be over $13 million.
