The world is changing ...
Me:

Author JRR Tolkien was immensely critical of film adaptations. In The Letters of J.R.R. Tolkien, Letter 210, he said this of a prospective script that had been sent to him:
... the failure of poor films is often precisely in exaggeration, and in the intrusion of unwarranted matter owing to not perceiving where the core of the original lies.
This is why Amazon's "Rings of Power" series is a laughingstock.
Tolkien even ridiculed the scriptwriter for the tiniest deviations from his lore.
The Balrog never speaks or makes any vocal sound at all. Above all he does not laugh or sneer ... [he] may think that he knows more about Balrogs than I do, but he cannot expect me to agree with him.
We live in an era where hundreds of millions of fans have watched Hollywood destroy their favorite books and films for the sake of profit and the woke cult.
The average LOTR fan could envision a film that is actually faithful to Tolkien, but he lacked the means to make that film.
Now, a new age of artistry has begun!
