The president of Syria, Ahmed Al-Sharaa, created the al-Qaeda-backed al-Nusra Front in 2012 under the alias "Muhammad Al-Jawlani" and was designated a major terror target with a $10-million reward on his head.
Under Al-Sharaa's leadership, jihadis carried out sectarian massacres against Christian, Alawite, and Druze communities in Syria. His forces deposed former dictator Bashar al-Assad in 2024 and installed him as the nation's leader.
Now, he attends speaking events with former CIA directors at the U.N. and hangs out in the Oval Office ... on Veterans Day!
But throw Trump into the mix and the horror of it all somehow becomes entertaining:
President Trump: The other one is for your wife. How many wives, one?
President Al-Sharaa: One.
Trump: With you guys I never know. I never know.
Trump received significant blowback from some people for praising and hosting the terror leader.
