Homeland Security revokes protected status for hundreds of thousands of Venezuelans
· Jan 29, 2025 · NottheBee.com

How it started:

How it's going:

President Trump ended the CBP One application allowing "asylum seekers" to apply for flights into the United States; now he's undone one of Biden's last orders.

The Temporary Protected Status of Venezuelans in the US had given 600,000 immigrants with a "get out of deportation free" card. They were "protected" because the communist dictatorship of Venezuela is deemed too dangerous to return to ... even though Venezuela was emptying its prisons to send their most dangerous criminals to the US.

No really, that's been happening for years. Biden just let it happen.

From Homeland Security Kristi Noem:

TPS has been granted to millions of people from countries all over the world. Many people have accused politicians like Biden of abusing the intent of the TPS program, which is to provide temporary relief in times of immense humanitarian crisis, in order to bypass Congress and U.S. immigration laws.

Why? To import cheap labor, of course (see the large numbers of Haitians working in factories in towns like Springfield, Ohio, and Charleroi, Pennsylvania).

In Venezuela's case, despite the fact that leftists assure us that all those with TPS status have been vetted, Venezuelan gangs have been setting up shop in major US cities, running elaborate street-theft schemes and even taking over apartment buildings. It is unknown how many of those gang members and their associates currently are part of the TPS program.

From US Citizenship and Immigration Services:

On Jan. 28, 2025, Secretary of Homeland Security Kristi Noem vacated the Jan. 17, 2025, notice that extended a Temporary Protected Status (TPS) designation for Venezuela. The Department will revert to the TPS redesignation and extension guidance that was announced in October 2023.

Adios!
