Would you look at this?

The evil media tried to bait a celebrity into attacking an old, loyal friend and, for once, the celebrity refused to take the bait.

Elton John has his issues, but you've gotta respect this.

Variety: I know that you're not a supporter of Donald Trump's. He loves your music. How did it feel when he took the lyrics to Rocket Man and he used it as a nickname for Kim Jong Un?

Elton: I laughed. I thought it was brilliant. I just thought, 'Good on ya, Donald! The Rocket Man, yeah.' Donald's always been a fan of mine, he's been to my concerts many many times. So, I've always been friendly towards him and I thank him for his support. Yeah, when he did that I thought it was hilarious, it made me laugh.

Variety had to be shocked that Elton didn't take up their cue to attack Donald. "I know you're not a supporter ..."

But, in one way, I think Sir Elton John is living up to his title as a knight. He's magnanimous, he's loyal, he's thankful for Trump's support.

And if it's not the Rocket Man joke, you also have Tiny Dancer playing in the background of one of Trump's most iconic moments.

Trump's a fan, and Elton appreciates it.

Let's hope Sir Elton isn't canceled for being too friendly toward Bad Orange Man.
