Video footage reveals the adorable culprit responsible for stealing over $125,000 in Koi from an English spa 🦦

Over the past few months, the Grosvenor Pulford Hotel near Chester, England, has been mysteriously losing Koi from its Asian Sensory Garden.

More than 50 of the fish, valued at over $2,000 each, disappeared before security footage caught the thief red-handed ... or red-pawed, as it were.

The otter was able to sneak past hotel staff and through an electric-fenced area to pilfer the fancy fish, but it must have been worth it because he came back at least 50 times.

Otters seem to love the expensive treat, as other Koi owners have experienced similar predicaments in the past.

Andrew Nelson, the director of Nelson Hotels & Inns, told The Telegraph,

It was definitely a surprise to say the least to find that an otter was the culprit for our huge loss of fish. With the fences we have installed previously to protect smaller fish from herons, we didn't expect any large animals to be able to access the pond areas. With around £100,000 worth of koi now lost, we are trying to find a solution to prevent any further loss.

In the meantime, guests of the spa will have fewer Koi to admire in the "Sensory Garden," but personally, I'd rather see the otter chowing down.
