WATCH: Transgender Virginia legislator storms out after being called "sir" by Lt. Governor Winsome Sears

Even in as ancient and august a body as the Virginia State Legislature, clown world still rules the day:

A transgender state senator stormed out of the chamber after [he] was incorrectly [sic] referred to as "sir" by the lieutenant governor.

The Virginia Senator Danica Roem was seen walking out of the chamber following the comment by Lieutenant Governor Winsome Earle-Sears, a Republican.

Here's footage of the incident:

I don't think I have to point out how silly this is, but I'll go ahead anyway:

  • First of all, Danica Roem is, in fact, a man. It's not wrong to call a man "sir." There's just nothing wrong with that. It's totally normal.
  • Second of all, even by the twisted logic of transgenderism, this is a silly little overreaction. "Misgendering" is not a war crime. If you mistakenly call a man "ma'am," for instance, it would be absurd for that man to storm out of the room in a little hissy fit over it. It happens sometimes. You shake your head, chuckle about it, and then move on.

(But, again, it wasn't a mistake. Roem is a man. "Sir" is appropriate here. Anything else is a lie.)

As you can see in that clip, Lt. Gov. Earle-Sears eventually delivered an apology to the chamber, which is, you know, something you apparently have to do these days when you call a man "sir:"

"It is never my intention to make anyone offended," Earle-Sears said after a recess following the incident. "I hope that others would consider that they would try not to offend me as well, we are all equal under the law.

"I'm not here to upset anyone. I am here to do the job the people of Virginia have called me to do, and that is to treat everyone with respect and dignity."

You hate to see someone speak honest, simple truth only to walk it back shortly afterwards.

Never cave to the Woke Monster.
