Walmart and Target are starting Christmas deals during the first week of October this year. This madness must stop. It can't be allowed!

Last year I warned you all that Christmas stuff was already beginning in September and that we need to put an end to this Christmas creep nonsense before it destroys us all.

Well, I suppose "first week of October" is indeed a little later than September. But still. This is unacceptable:

Walmart and Target plan to begin offering deals and price matching offers earlier this year to keep up with Americans pressed by soaring inflation and looking for ways to ease the potential sting of holiday shopping. ...

Walmart, the nation's largest retailer, is also expanding the window for returns by more than a month. Gift returns will now be accepted between Oct. 1 and Jan. 31, compared with last year's return window of Nov. 1 to Jan. 24, the company said. ...

Target, based in Minneapolis, said will begin offering holiday deals between Oct. 6 and Oct. 8, a few days earlier than a year ago and it will begin price matching then, also a couple days early.

All right-thinking people the world over are having the same reaction;

We cannot allow the Christmas Creep to continue. It has blown well past even the bare-minimum barrier of Halloween and we are rapidly getting to the point where the Christmas season will be within striking distance of Labor Day.

Reject this madness. Refuse to do Christmas before November. Don't give up. Together we can turn back this nefarious tide!
