So, this looks tense.

Yeah, that's a reporter from TV station "Peace Studio" being forced to read the edicts of armed Taliban terrorists who are looking for any excuse to use their rifles.

Imagine being that reporter. He's what, mid-30s? He probably hasn't seen Taliban rule since he was a kid.

Now this is going to be his daily life.

The Sun reported this about the incident:

Kian Sharifi, a BBC Monitoring journalist fluent in the Dari dialect of Persian, said the show is a political debate programme called Pardaz, and that the anchor was forced to say the Islamic Emirate - the Taliban's preferred name - wants the public to "cooperate with it and should not be afraid".

During the 42-second clip, it seemed as if the news presenter was being stared down by the two militants standing on each side of him.

The Taliban militants reportedly stormed the TV station and urged the anchor to talk with them โ€” as US officials said a terrorist suicide squad on its way to carry out a second attack on Kabul airport was wiped out in a drone strike.

However, it is not clear exactly when the footage was filmed.

According to WIO News, the presenter was seen reading the news and conducting a debate with the militants.

Kian Sharifi also said that the reporter in the clip, Mirwais Heidari Haqdoost, seems to be doing okay and hosted another episode of his program the following day.

This is what "freedom" looks like when you're under the thumb of violent men who rule at the point of a gun.

As an aside, do you think this fella's family tree forks at all? ๐Ÿค”
