Watch White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre twist herself into a pretzel trying to explain how raising taxes on big corporations brings down inflation, as President Biden tweeted last week

You may or may not have seen this terrible tweet from President House Plant himself last week:

Yes, when all else fails just blame the greedy corporations, right?

Tax them more, that's what I say!!!

Great talking point!

And we all know this tweet and the overall message behind it is bogus. Corporations will simply pass these costs onto not only the consumer with price hikes, but also to employees with fewer hours and hourly wage stagnation.

So it was up to Peter Doocy to ask White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre just what exactly President Biden was getting at with the above tweet. And she had quite a time coming up with something (nothing?) in response.

Watch:

Here's Jean-Pierre's answer for those of you who can't do audio:

Look, you know, we have talked about this this past year about making sure that the wealthiest among us are paying their fair share. And that is important to do and that is something that the president has been working on every day when we talk about inflation and lowering cost. So it's very important that as we're seeing costs rise, as we're talking about how to build an America that's equal for everyone and doesn't leave anyone behind. That is an important part of that as well.

Due to Jean-Pierre's non-answer (what was that?), Doocy was forced to chime in with an important question:

But how does raising taxes on corporations lower the cost of gas, the cost of a used car, the cost of food for everyday Americans?

Great question, am I right?

Jean-Pierre with another non-answer:

So look, I think we encourage those who have done very well, especially those who care about climate change, to support a fair tax code that doesn't charge manufacturers, workers, cops, builders a higher percentage of their earning [than] the most fortunate people in our nation. And not let that stand in the way of reducing energy costs and fighting this existential problem if you think about that as an example. And to support basic collective bargaining rights as well, that's also important...Without having a fair tax code, which is what I'm talking about...manufacturing workers, cops, it's not fair for them to have to pay higher taxes than the folks who are not paying taxes at all.

Now, I'm not dogging on this lady. She's new to the job and adjustments will be made.

But my, this idea of higher corporate taxes defeating inflation really took her for a ride. What did she do there, turn to climate change for a while? And then collective bargaining? Everything except how higher corporate taxes can help ease inflation.

They can't.

The only way this actually works is with price controls, which will only kick the can down the road further.

Anyhow, Karine Jean-Pierre is in for quite the awakening now that she's the voice of the incompetent Biden-Harris Administration. She's going to have to do her homework every time President House Plant opens his mouth, or else we'll see more of this awkward stumbling from her.

Good luck to you, ma'am.
