A career can be discouraging, tiring, enraging—sometimes all three at once—and it can be easy to want to give up in the face of hardship and struggle. But whenever you feel like throwing in the towel, just remember there's a literal 101-year-old woman still doing one of the hardest jobs on the planet off the coast of Maine:
Just think of the legends that the lobsters in Penobscot Bay must tell about Virginia Oliver. The woman herself, meanwhile, is unapologetic:
"The doctor said to me: 'What are you out there lobstering for?' And I said: 'Because I want to!'"
