Zero swimmers sign up for Swimming World Cup transgender category ... I wonder why

You may not know this, but World Aquatics, the international governing body for swimming, voted last year to ban transgender athletes from the women's category. They then decided to debut an open category for trans athletes, which, to be honest, is quite fair considering the circumstances. This was a huge win for women, but apparently not so much for trans-identifying males, cuz look at this:

Yeah dude, zero. Zero trans peeps signed up for the transgender category.

World Aquatics' plans to debut an open category for transgender athletes at the World Cup in Berlin this week have been cancelled after no entries were received.

Swimming's governing body, which voted last year to ban transgender women from the elite female category, had promised to stage the "pioneering pilot project" to promote its "unwavering commitment to inclusivity, welcoming swimmers of all sex and gender identities".

However, its intention to hold an "open" category, with 50m and 100m races across all strokes alongside its men's and women's competition, has been put on hold.

Does this mean that transgender swimmers have effectively canceled themselves?

I do think so.

This was honestly the most fair alternative to the infiltration of the women's category by men. It makes perfect sense in the strange world we live in โ€” create a trans category and let the feminine boys compete against each other there.

But no, they got zero entries.

And we all know why. It's about defeating women, not swimming.
