Georgia Senate candidate says he’s a “pro-choice pastor” and gets wrecked online

"Reverend" Raphael Warnock, the Democratic opponent trying to unseat Sen. Kelly Loeffler in a special Georgia runoff election, wants you to know that he is both a Christian leader and a wholesale advocate of slaughtering children before they're born.

"I'm a pro-choice pastor," Warnock tweeted, obviously unaware the sheer enormity of his oxymoron stretches to the edge of infinity and beyond.

Let's start with the basic facts. First, scientifically, an unborn child is a separate human being. Theologically, the Bible states per Genesis 1:27 that that child is a unique being made in the image of God. That statement is summarily supported by other passages such as Psalm 139:13-16.

A conservative estimate for worldwide abortions is 42 million annually. When we use this word "choice," we are talking about more than 1,700,000,000 (that's billion) people who were starved, poisoned, and/or hacked to pieces in the womb over the last 50 years.

To put that in perspective, that's about 20% of the human race that we've killed in the name of "choice."

The Bible has numerous passages that show the worth God ascribes to every human being. For reference, see Jeremiah 1:5, Psalm 22:9-10, Galatians 1:15, Isaiah 49:1, Luke 1:39–44, Isaiah 57:4-5, and Deuteronomy 12:31. Some try to twist specific passages like Exodus 21:22 to argue for a "divine sliding scale" of worth that is contrary to the rest of Scripture (do you even exegete, bro?), but you've got to do impressive hermeneutical loop-de-loops to choke that heresy down.

I‘m assuming "Pastor" Warnock is one such person. I should remind him and those like him that this stands contrary to the Word of a holy, just, and sovereign God (which should be terrifying to the extreme). If Warnock were driving and thought a person might be in the road, I assume he'd be - at minimum - afraid enough of jail time to avoid hitting said person. When dealing with the question of how Almighty God sees baby murder, however, Warnock plays fast and loose with moral judgments.

As if GOD'S condemnation were not enough, the body of fellow Christians across the ages stand diametrically opposed to Warnock. Consider the following few quotes from the past 2,000 years of church leadership:

"To hinder birth is merely a speedier man-killing; nor does it matter whether you take away a life that is born, or destroy one that is coming to the birth. That is a man which is going to be one; you have the fruit already in the seed." - Apology, 9.6, 197, Tertullian

"You shall not kill the embryo by abortion and shall not cause the newborn to perish." - The Didache (Early Manual on Conduct for Early Rural Churches)

"Christians are differentiated from other people by country, language, or customs. They do not live in cities of their own or speak some strange dialect. They live in their own native lands, but as resident aliens. They marry and have children just like everyone else, but they do not kill unwanted babies." - The Letter to Diognetus (a second- or third-century work that defends the doctrines of Christianity).

"The fetus, though enclosed in the womb of its mother, is already a human being and it is a monstrous crime to rob it of the life which it has not yet begun to enjoy. If it seems more horrible to kill a man in his own house than in a field, because a man's house is his place of most secure refuge, it ought surely to be deemed more atrocious to destroy a fetus in the womb before it has come to light." - Commentary, Exodus 21:22, 1563, John Calvin

"I've spent my whole life studying theology, teaching theology, and I can tell you, if I know anything about God, I know that God hates abortion. And I know that He will not tolerate this forever. - "R.C. Sproul

This massive cloud of witnesses cries out against abortion and its advocates across the ages. Fortunately for us, we've been blessed with more technology than our forebears could have possibly imagined and can use it to summarily stomp out pro-murder heresy in real-time.

Here were but a few of the responses to Warnock's assertion of being a pro-choice pastor:

White House press secretary Kayleigh McEnany went straight for the jugular:

Yet even more assembled like the Avengers, destroying this statement for its absolute stupidity:

Commentator Allie Beth Stuckey swooped in for the final K.O., going the extra mile to note how Warnock's support of socialism is anti-biblical:

In conclusion: The only way to be a pro-choice pastor is to serve a radically different god than the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob. What a terrifying thought.
