Well this is awkward. Joe Biden just can't seem to figure out who he is politically; or rather, who his voters are. Asked in an interview to talk to Wisconsin voters who are worried about socialism and raising taxes, ol' Joe gave an answer that must've upset a lot of Bernie Bros:
"I beat the socialist...do I look like a socialist?" Oh boy, Joe, I think you look like you just lost a whole lot of votes.
Not that this is a Wisconsin issue entirely, but hear me out here: nearly a third of Wisconsinites voted for the Bern Dog in the primary. Driving the streets of Milwaukee on a daily basis, I see A LOT of Bernie bumper stickers. People are pretty serious in this state when it comes to socialism; and some say the progressive movement was born here. I have to think Joe just lost a lot of votes in Wisconsin. And last time I checked Wisconsin is a pretty important state to win.
What's worst about this is Bernie and Joe are supposed to be working together right now. They started a joint task force earlier this year which was supposed to unite the moderate and progressive wings of the Democratic Party. How's that working out for you guys?
On the conservative side we can all sort of sit back, watch this stuff happen, and just laugh really. I remember back during the primaries thinking, well, if Bernie wins we're good; there are plenty of reasonable Democrats out there that will definitely not vote for a socialist. Today, it's much different: Joe Biden just has to show some signs of openness to socialism and he's good, he wins some of those voters. Just pretend for a few months that you're open-minded, maybe just sit in your basement a lot, invite a black woman to be your VP, play "Despacito" to your hispanic audience, and you're good.
But this ain't it. It's almost like Joe is trying to juggle girlfriends. On one end he really likes the one girl, and the movie they're sitting in is a doozy. But he's still got to "hit the bathroom" a few times and go visit his less appealing girlfriend who is watching some predictable chick flick that nobody likes and pretend he cares about her too. I understand—but not from experience—this can be very difficult.
Well Joe, you know what they say, "Noone can serve two masters." You've got to pick one: either you stick with your corporate Democrat roots and continue to destroy America your way; or you do something different for a change and choose to ruin America via the socialist path.
