Don't you just hate it when you spend half-a-billion dollars to build a megayacht and then realize that, in building the yacht, you forgot to include plans for a helipad on top of the yacht?
Well, that's exactly what happened to Jeff Bezos. He spent $500 million building a megayacht that was so big they had to dismantle a historic bridge to get it out to open waters. And with all the work that went into it they didn't think that this supervillain floating-fortess just might need a helipad.
Here's his floating palace, Koru, the second-largest private yacht in the world:
As you can see, there's no helipad on the stern where those gents are standing!
The humanity!!
But Bezos was able to solve it by simply purchasing another $75 million yacht as a support boat to run alongside and have the helicopters land.
Bezos' girlfriend Lauren Sanchez is an avid helicopter pilot. So rather than sending the superyacht back to the shipyards, Bezos does what any billionaire with too much money would do, he bought another one.
Who hasn't had a girlfriend who's an avid helicopter pilot who you had to buy a landing pad for?
There's nothing like being so rich that you can buy a second 279-foot yacht with a 75-crew occupancy to just hang out next to your even-bigger megayacht.
Again, so relatable.
