The Supreme Court's historic upholding of Texas's abortion ban has occasioned no small amount of well-deserved celebrating from the pro-life lobby. But it's also made a ton of pro-choicers really mad—and in many cases specifically because the law will mean less abortions for nonwhite babies and babies with Down syndrome.
Seriously. Take it from no less of an authority than President of the United States Joe Biden:
"...particularly for communities of color and individuals with low incomes."
So is the president lamenting the fact that we may soon have more nonwhite and poor babies in the country?
Not a good look.
California Rep. Sara Jacobs expressed a similar lament:
Yikes. Missouri Rep. Cori Bush was also unhappy about the prospect of fewer black abortions:
Some people were specifically upset that the ban would see fewer Down syndrome abortions:
This is what kids these days call "saying the quiet part out loud." Historically there's a word that describes the ideology in which human beings deemed undesirable are weeded out from the gene pool. What was it called again?
