The DOJ is recommending only 6 months in jail for Ray Epps, the guy who is on tape telling people to enter the Capitol ๐Ÿค”

I don't quite understand how justice works in this country, especially when it comes to iNsUrReCtIoNs. We've got dudes serving ten, fifteen, twenty years behind bars for their roles in January 6th, and Ray Epps is gonna get six months?

I hate to be a conspiracy theorist here, but this has "red flag" written all over it. I mean, first of all, this guy's been on our radar for quite some time. We all have this gut feeling that he's a fed, and now he's getting an absolute sweetheart deal from the feds. Seems a little suspicious, doesn't it?

Here's why Epps is only getting six months:

Although Epps engaged in felonious conduct during the riot on January 6, his case includes a variety of distinctive and compelling mitigating factors, which led the government to exercise its prosecutorial discretion and offer Epps a pre-indictment misdemeanor plea resolution.

Specifically, Epps: (1) turned himself in to the FBI two days after the riot, on January 8, 2021, immediately after becoming aware the FBI was seeking to identify him; (2) cooperated with both the FBI and Congress, participating in multiple lengthy voluntary interviews; and (3) engaged in at least five efforts on January 6 to deescalate conflict and avoid violence between rioters and police officers.

He has also expressed what appears to be sincere remorse, see PSR 1 41, although he continues to speciously blame members of Antifa secretly posing as Trump supporters for the violence and property damage that occurred at the Capitol on January 6. Finally, Epps has been the target of a false and widespread conspiracy theory that he was an undercover government agent on January 6.

They really lightened his sentence because he was a "target of a false and widespread conspiracy theory that he was an undercover government agent on January 6."

You know what, the next time we do an iNsuRreCtioN, I'm gonna spread conspiracy theories about me and my conservative friends being feds, that way we'll all get only 6 months for our service. If it worked for Epps it could work for us.

Here's the charge on Epps:

The criminal information charges that Epps "did knowingly, and with intent to impede and disrupt the orderly conduct of Government business and official functions, engage in disorderly and disruptive conduct in and within such proximity to, a restricted building and grounds โ€” that is, any posted, cordoned-off, and otherwise restricted area within the United States Capitol and its grounds, where the Vice President was and would be temporarily visiting โ€” when and so that such conduct did in fact impede and disrupt the orderly conduct of Government business and official functions, and attempted and conspired to do so."

All this despite the fact that he admitted he "orchestrated it" (January 6th).

And the video evidence:

"We need to go into the Capitol."

Yeah, this dude gets only six months and you're going to try and convince me that he's not a fed?

Give me a break!
