The National Weather Service baked some cookies inside of a hot car in Texas and now I'm gonna be driving around with these things on my dash every time it gets into the nineties

Okay, here's a great way to bake up some cookies.

The temperature jumped to 105 degrees in Midland, Texas last week and that was perfect weather to bake some cookies inside of a parked car, which, with the windows closed, measured in at a blazing 190 degrees!

Seriously though, this is dangerously hot, so the point they're making here is to always check your car before you lock it up and walk away. Sometimes, believe it or not, people will completely forget they had their kids with them, or even the dog, and just head on into the store, leaving the kids (or dog) to bake in this kind of heat for who knows how long. And we all know what can happen as a result.

So while I really want to try these cookies, I agree with what they're doing here as well. It's like having both the milk and the cookies. Mmmmmm.

Anyhow, let's check on those cookies, which took about 4 and a half hours to cook.

Here are the batches of cookies. We cheated a little bit with one batch and put a golden brown finish on them. Can confirm they are done and delicious!

Yeah, those do look good. And I'm taking the authentic car-only batch. Those look perfect!

Check your car before you lock up and head inside to beat the heat.

Oh, and don't forget to bake some cookies on your dash while you're at the grocery store.
