News outlets reported on Friday that the Capitol Police officer who shot and killed Jan. 6 rioter Ashli Babbitt—a man whose identity remains completely unknown and enshrouded beneath layers of bureaucratic secrecy—has been exonerated by an internal investigation conducted by the Capitol Police.
The Justice Department announced in April that no charges were being brought against the officer. The exoneration by the Capitol Police wraps up the last remaining investigation into the incident.
Yep, that about wraps it up, and in a way that should probably surprise nobody at all.
