UNC forces students to wear masks outside but also allows hundreds of them to drink from the same water fountain

Like many institutions of higher learning, the University of North Carolina this year is requiring all students, faculty and staff to wear face coverings in most campus spaces in the hopes that doing so will stop the spread of SARS-Cov-2.

Yet UNC apparently believes that, while there's a substantial risk of transmitting COVID between students who are outside on a sunny day, the risk is less measurable if all of those students slurp from the same traditional campus water fountain:

We all know that COVID tends to avoid Black Lives Matter protests, high-profile Democratic dinners at Michelin restaurants, and massive birthday bashes of former Democratic presidents. Apparently it avoids historic southern university water fountains as well!

As one student noted, the university plainly needs a re-organizing of its comms division:

She should at least ask for a discount on her tuition, anyway.
