Coca-Cola and other woke companies better get ready to boycott the U.K.! The queen is announcing new voter ID laws.

Queen Elizabeth II is set to announce that citizens will need identification in future elections to protect against [looks both ways for fact-checkers] voter fraud:

From the article:

"Britons will have to show photo ID to vote in future general elections, ministers are poised to confirm this week, as a means of tackling fraud which critics claim could deter poorer and ethnic minority voters from taking part in democracy.

The proposal is to be included in Tuesday's Queen's speech, which will set out the government's post-pandemic priorities and the laws it intends to pass in the forthcoming parliamentary session."

I've been told repeatedly over the past few months that voter ID laws like the one in Georgia are racist attempts by white supremacists to keep minority voters down – based, I presume, on the notion that black individuals aren't smart enough to get an ID.

Joe Biden told ESPN that the law made "Jim Crow look like Jim Eagle" and MLB moved its All Star Game out of black-majority Atlanta because of the law.

Coca-Cola's CEO specifically called the law "a step backward."

In addition to Stacey Abrams and others calling for boycotts of the state, a rather long list of corporations and executives took out a full page ad in the New York Times decrying the Georgia voter ID law.

A few of the companies included Google's parent company Alphabet, Amazon, AIG, Apple, Cisco, Dell, American Express, Dropbox, Discover, Facebook, IBM, Levi Strauss, Lyft, Microsoft, Paypal, Netflix, Salesforce, Target, Twitter, Under Armour, Square, Wells Fargo, and United Airlines.

Many business leaders from these companies even held a secret meeting to discuss how they could financially and politically hurt anyone who supporters voter ID.

Although the statistics show 2020 black voter turnout in places like Georgia was actually much higher than many Democrat-led states, I have a feeling these woke companies aren't going to back off the party narrative that evil white conservatives are trying to suppress minority voices.

With that being the case, are they going to apply their standards equally?

Will they double down and lambast Queen Elizabeth?

Will they pull their businesses out of the U.K. and write long opinion pieces in the NYT about how the queen is a white supremacist?

Or was all that rage just fabricated hypocrisy meant to garner them virtue points with the woke?

My bet's on the latter.
