A Coast Guard boat with a crew of five guardsmen was patrolling the waters of the Kennebec River on Thursday in search of [the suspect], who is accused of killing 18 people and wounding 13 others Wednesday night, said Chief Petty Officer Ryan Smith, the officer in charge of the Boothbay Harbor Station.
Police previously found [the suspect's] car at a boat launch in Lisbon Falls — about 10 miles southeast of Lewiston — amid a widespread manhunt sparked by the shootings at a bowling alley where he played and a nearby bar.
The vessel is a 15-foot Bayliner lake boat.
The Kennebec River runs north-south through Maine with an outlet on the Atlantic Ocean.
