Politico is afraid. Very afraid.
If the person who is being targeted by the DoJ today - the man who is being dragged into court in multiple cases - if that man is in power, then he might use the DoJ as a political weapon.
Reminder:
Imagine, just imagine if the Department of Justice were turned into a political weapon to punish the regime's opponents.
Just imagine!
Remember when the #3 guy at the DoJ went over to New York City in 2022 to work with DA Alvin Bragg's office ahead of the investigation into Trump?
Remember how the DoJ just released a letter from the would-be Trump assassin that promised $150,000 for whoever could take out Trump?
And I'm stealing this from an earlier article, but ...
if you need more evidence on how thoroughly corrupt the FBI is, see here, here, here, here, here, here, here, here, here, here, here, here, here, here, here, here, here, here, here, here, here, here, here, and here.
Oh, but Bad Orange Man may abuse his power!
The Establishment: "Lawfare is super scary ... if we are the ones on the receiving end!"
'All you have to do is listen to the former president himself,' a former top Justice Department official, who was granted anonymity to discuss Trump's interest in prosecuting his legal and political adversaries, recently told me. 'He has come right out and said that's what he wants to do, and he was obviously very frustrated during the last administration, when he wasn't able to have as much influence in that area as he wanted.'
Andrew McCabe, the former acting FBI director during the Trump administration, told me that he believes Trump 'absolutely will"'follow through on his threats. 'It's one of the things that actually matters to him.' McCabe knows from experience: His life was turned upside down after he became a target of Trump's baseless attacks and was threatened with indictment by Trump's Justice Department over statements that he made to internal investigators about his disclosures to the press.
It's just projection all the way down, isn't it?
They are accusing Trump of being dangerous for doing EXACTLY what the Democrats are already doing.
The FBI director position is another plum target for Trump. Christopher Wray, who was appointed as FBI chief by Trump and confirmed almost unanimously by the Senate, has several more years left in his 10-year term, but Trump has turned on him. If elected, Trump could fire Wray and try to replace him with a more obedient figure โ someone who would not hesitate to dedicate FBI agents and resources toward retaliatory prosecutions.
The Swamp is SO scared.
There's a reason for the projection. There's a good reason for the fear.
I hope and pray that the fears of Politico and the Swamp represented in their story are totally founded.
I hope they have every reason to fear a second Trump administration.
